Pitt lake Cabin Wedding
I met Kelsey & Tyson through Kelsey’s mom. Who I worked with at the emergency department. We always got along, cuz nurses are twisted and all haha. So last year I met up with Kelsey & Tyson to start planning the wedding timeline and do engagements and such! The plan for the wedding rode the covid roller coaster for awhile and then, not too long before the date was coming up it was a GO!
So here’s the story of Kelsey + Tyson’s Pitt Lake Cabin Wedding. Just a comment to any brides to be out there, I just have to say…THIS is my favorite kind of wedding! Only the closest of friends and family at a unique and meaningful location. Just having fun & hanging out, many hands making light work ( and Tyson’s Mom leading the way & making all the delicious food!) It was the perfect cabin wedding.
So it all started Thursday with the long drive to the marina, a 12 hour drive through 2 sweet mountain ranges! We followed Kelsey’s coded instructions to arrive at the Marina and await the arrival of our boat.. driven not only by someone we’d never met- but also captained by a 5 year old.
We arrived at the cabin and the party started
Kelsey and Tyson were there shortly & made their grand entrance…
Kelsey beat everyone (but Lindsey) at leg wrestling.
They took a quick dip and we spent the night on the dock chatting away, and cuddling Guinness.
Friday we had all day to scout locations, Kelsey’s Mom & Niece made the wedding cake & I even got to take a couple families and couples out for shoots.
Here’s Matt not string directing into the camera & I’m so proud.
Night 2 was much more relaxed, as we all got our beauty sleep for the big day.
First thing in the morning, the boys hung Sarahs bra’s up a flag pole, while the girls gathered wildflowers and decorated the ceremony dock.
The groomsmen needed a quick clean up before they got dressed. So they washed up Dallas Olga style.
Then it was time for the ladies! They were getting ready at a cabin just a ways down the beach.
Ceremony time! OK, before you go any further. This was not only one of my favorite wedding, locations and gathering, but this ceremony! WOW, Tyson & Kelsey’s Mom’s did the officiating. EVERYONE cried and if they didn’t, then I don’t know what’s wrong with them!
This was my crying breaking point
Thank god for Dad’s with tissues.
After everyone go their post wedding hugs tears and kisses out, we did family photos on the dock.
After photos, we came back to the cabin for some sweet drinking games & dancing.
Then, everyone tried to cross the floating log, Kelsey & Tyson almost went for a swim, but Tyson saved the day! others were not as fortunate.
Once everyone had changed into dry clothes, it was supper and cake time!
Then.. “first” Dances
The dancing went late into the night
To finish the night off , the last of us went for a midnight dip!
Sunday, our captain drove us back to the marina.
