Thinking of and elopement? but don’t want to travel far? But still somewhere special? British Columbia is one of our beautiful neighbors!
Travelling all the way from Red Deer, Alberta to Mabel lake British Columbia was just the first 8 hour step to making this day happen. Rianna and Scott may be from Central Alberta. But like many of us, British Columbia is one of their favorite places.
I had quite the day exploring the Sicamous & Mabel Lake area with them.
From hiking down the train track, attempting to jump a train(One of my life long dreams by the way) to it leading us to a beach in the middle of the mountains, venturing into gorgeous wide open fields, a hell of a lot greener then anything you’ll find in Alberta right now. All the way to the very end when we finally made it to Mabel Lake to exchange Vows.
This day was such a great example of the simplicity & adventurous excitement that comes with eloping. Check out Back Packer Elopements if you really want me to go into detail about why I love travelling elopements!
Rianna & Scott are form small town Caroline, which I know all about because I grew up just down the road from them in even smaller town Spruce View. It made it easy to spend the day wandering around the woods like children with them.
The Last Leg Elopement
Finally the last leg of our journey involved the steepest terrain, but I suppose the best spots are the hardest to get to. Once we made it the the base of Mabel Lake, we ended our night with a simple vow & ring exchange. The simplest of days always seem to be the most beautiful.
Thats where I left them! At the base of Mabel Lake, at sunset.
