This year, one of my new years revolutions was to inspire bride + grooms to have the wedding they want!
I have seen so many couples, who get engaged & have a magnifacant dream wedding day. Then once they learn the logistics & the price tag that come along with their dream day. They get overwhelmed and too stressed and give up on their dream & turn it in for something they’ve seen before, something safe and familuar.
Now in my last blog “Planning a Wedding on a Budget- Keeping Quality and cutting costs” . I talk in detail about the different ways you can cut down on costs & stress, while keeping the dream alive.
But todays blog is me walking the walk instead of talking the talk. The Mount Engadine shoot was one of 5 inspiration shoots I’ll be doing this year. The goal is to show brides and grooms unique venues and wedding day ideas. That can be planned and enjoyed with as little stress as possiable.
Located in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, 45 mins out side of Canmore. Mount Engadine can sleep up to 39 adults. Hosting an entire wedding experince with a lodge, dining room, a bar, multiple fire places, unique moutain surrounding. The ceremony locations are beautiful and limitless!
I think Mount Engadine is a spectacular venue for any small wedding. The ability to host everyone and having them stay together for the weekend is just an added bonus! The venue itself is worth the drive, add in the gorgeous mountain views. I cant find a reason not to have your intimate wedding here!
The Inspiration Shoot
Lets see first hand how a small wedding at Mount Engadine would be!
Breaking tradition #1, Getting ready- the norm is the bride gets ready alone with the bridesmaids. In the past I have had the bride and groom get ready together. Today I wanted to see how it would feel for the entire wedding party & some of the guests getting ready all together. And it did not disappoint, I think this would be an amazing option for a group of close friends and family. It seemed to help calm everyone’s gitters, being together.
We had AMAZING stylists on the job with Madision on hair & Payden on make up.
Once the finishing touches were almost done, the guests & wedding party left to the ceremony site. Which gave the bride and groom an intimate time together to put her dress on.
It was just a couple minute walk to gorgeous mountain views, where we had chosen the ceremony location-The groom left ahead of us to still allow for the brides big entrance.
After the ceremony, we didn’t need to go far for group photos- on the balcony of the lodge. Mountain views included.
Another break in tradtion- post ceremony snowboarding down the hill! When you have a small group, your time is limitless, so you can literally do WHATEVER you want!
Back at the lodge, the dining room is easily converted into a beautiful wedding supper hall, bar included!!
I hope this has inspired someone out there to break the mold! Know that your wedding doesn’t have to be like anyone elses!
