Through the window newborn photos? What even is that…
Well Meghan and I had big plans. I wanted her and her new baby to be my first “fresh 48” session. I guess the World had a different idea.
How does that saying go again? When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Well it felt like life was squirting those lemons directly into our eyeballs. Ouch. No newborn photos? We couldn’t let that happen.
So I came up with a plan. We decided to see what we could do through their living room window. It wasn’t without flaws, but given the current situation it was pretty perfect.
Take a look at what we got!

These two were such troopers but Gracie was especially fond of the camera. My camera was pretty fond of her as well.
Would you look at those baby toes! Who does love fresh baby feet!?
One of the hardest things about doing it this way was that I missed out on all the newborn cuddles I otherwise would’ve gotten. I rely on these to keep my ovaries in check so I don’t go getting all baby crazy again HAHA.
Would you look at that proud dad look! Two different forms of love caught in one photo. So sweet!
Some of our challenges –
We had to communicate through our phones on speaker phone, which if you know me was a challenge in itself. I am NOT a loud phone talker haha. I also had to grab a blanket in my truck that I draped over my head/shoulders to try and block some of the reflections. Posing was definitely a bit trickier without being able to reach out and actually touch my clients!
It was a great new challenge to capture, through the window, newborn photos, but these were the perfect clients to try it out with. These have become some of my favorite photos. I love how well they capture the times that baby Karson was born into.
